Once upon a time, I had no paint, but I had sheets of colored tissue paper, white glue, and a piece of illustration board. The images are shown chronologically, the first piece was completed in about two weeks in April of 1997.
After the first two pieces, I switched
from glue to gel medium, illustration board to primed masonite, and the
pieces naturally became larger. I loved the process of adding nearly
thirty layers of precisely cut paper on the surface - I had the messiest
studio ever with thousands of bits of paper everywhere!

'Donovan's Jag' 36"x60"
'Porsche 2' 48"x72"

'Red Jag' 48"x48"
Then they were
months to complete. 'Porsche 2' was eight months of over 40 hours of work a week, but unfortunately, not archival. The last piece, not
shown here, started to fade before it was completed. I abandoned this method and began the watercolor series in January of 2001.
